We are sad to announce the passing of Betty Sue Kin. Born November 12, 1946 in Oneida, TN. She went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2024, surrounded by family. Her parents were James Red Thompson and Mary Texie Phillips.
Betty had a very strong faith and was the angel in the choir at Church Building 52:10. She spent her life serving as a nurse. Her oath was to never pass over anyone in need of medical attention. After retiring from nursing at age 72, she began a second career as a nail technician at Sister Sister Salon. She continued to serve others and had an impact on all she met. Betty enjoyed crocheting, making blankets and booties for all her babies. She also lover shooting her .32 revolver with her family. They would all agree that she was the best shot.
Betty King is survived by her husband, Morris King and their children, Rita Harrington (Blayne), Tony King (DeDe) and Tina Higdon (Neal). Her grandchildren are Jeremy Acres(Tiffany), Jake Harrington (Katelyn), Abby Harrington, Michael King, Cody King (Kimberly), Sklyar King, Eathan Umbehant, Kaylob Allen, Nikki Richardson (Brett), and Caleb Higdon (Emily). Her great grandchildren are Brayson, Chloe, Madison, Macean, McKenna, Bayleigh, Aiden, Everleigh, Hayden, Aerielle, Adilyn, Charlie and Roland. Mrs. King leaves two brothers, Randy Thompson (Ruby) and Terry Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a brother, James Thompson and a granddaughter, Angel Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 6-8 pm at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 3 pm in the chapel. The graveside service will follow at Faith Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at A.E. Carter Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
