Obituary
Barbara Shepherd Valentine, 71 of Rutledge, passed away on February 16, 2023. Barbara was born on October 8, 1951 in Madison, GA to Bonny and Elease Hawk Shepherd. She was a graduate of the Piedmont School of Nursing and held a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration from Kennedy Western University. She worked for Piedmont Newton in Covington as ICU Head Nurse and Assistant Administrator. Barbara was married to the late, Hunter Valentine.
Barbara was a member of the Rutledge United Methodist Church. She was a devoted Bulldog football fan and lifelong season ticket holder. She enjoyed yardwork and loved her Boston Terriers.
Barbara Valentine is survived by three step-children, Hatton Valentine & Missy, Jim Valentine & Janna and Scott Valentine & Kia. She also leaves two brothers, Alan Shepherd & Sara and Mark Shepherd & Fay. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Bonny and Elease Shepherd and her husband, Hunter Valentine.
