Anne White Ramay, 95 of Madison, passed away peacefully March 15, 2023 surrounded by family. Mrs. Ramay was born August 10, 1927 in Whitehaven, TN to George Veston and Martha Louise Anderson White. She was married to Arvin Otis Ramay. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Southaven, MS. She was retired as a teacher’s aide. After retirement she spent over 20 years as a hospital volunteer. Her true love was caring for her family and her home. In later years, she came to appreciate bird watching and loved time spent with her dog, Lucy Boots.
Mrs. Ramay was preceded in death by her husband, Arvin Otis Ramay and sister, Janet Burkett. She is survived by a son, John A. Ramay (Donna) of Hazlehurst, and a daughter, Janet Ramay Woodard (James) of Madison and a sister, Martha Frances Franks of Madison. She leaves grandchildren, Andy Ramay (Shemane), LeeAnne Ramay Lightsey, Veston Ramay, Claire Woodard, Will Woodard: and great grandchildren, Trey, Tanner, Eli, Cohen, Aubree and Haylee. She is also survived by nieces, Joyce Ramay Sanders, Becky Frank and Dottie Dreggars and a nephew, Bob Ramay.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 18 at A.E. Carter Funeral Home from 2-3 PM. The funeral service will be held at 3 PM in the chapel. The service will be officiated by Rev. Terry Richardson. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, March 20 at Forest Hill Cemetery, South in Memphis, TN. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Juanita Tyson, Maria Hardy, Ida Cosby, Eleanor Johnson, Rhonda Smith, Cassandra Thomas, Megan Morris and Clayton Reed.
