Anita (McAdams) Johnston

Mrs. Anita McAdams Johnston of Rutledge, passed away on November 2, 2023.  She was a native of Morgan County.  She was born on September 1, 1932 to Walter and Mary Leila Shepherd McAdams.  She was married to the late, Joel Johnston.  They lived in Rutledge and worked together.  Mrs. Johnston was a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.  She loved to work with her hands, knitting and crocheting and jig saw puzzles.  She also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. 

Mrs. Johnston is survived by her children, Tommy And Debra Johnston, Joey and the late, Lynn Johnston, Alan and Frances Johnston, Bill and Sherry Marshall, Jeffrey and Joy Johnston.  Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 5 from 4-6 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 6 at 1 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
