Alexander Wayne Broadrick of Greensboro, Georgia born on May 1, 1991, passed away February 1, 2022, in Wilmington, NC. Alex completed high school at Gatewood Prep School sharing his love for football with his brother Tyler and also playing baseball. His love for football continued past high school with a strong allegiance to the University of Georgia Bulldogs. While living at Lake Oconee, Alex enjoyed boating and golfing with friends.
Following high school, Alex attended Valdosta State University, earning the associates degree after which he transferred to the University of North Georgia seeking completion of a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology. After living in Dawsonville, Athens, and Greensboro, Georgia, he moved to Wilmington, NC to be involved in the Christian Recovery Houses ministry.
The ministry in North Carolina blessed him, and in recent months, his work with others in the ministry grew to hold a special place in his heart. He loved his family. Although hesitant to hold little children, he soon became the special “uncle” to all the little children of the family. His family loved Alex and will deeply miss him; however, we look forward to seeing him in heaven someday.
His greatest love, however, was for Jesus Christ to whom he had committed his life. Having been around church for much of his life, it was in recent years that he made Christ the center of his life. He was the first to admit that he still had maturing in Christ to go, but he understood that God isn’t finished with any of us yet; Alex desired to grow in Christ. He is now with Christ.
Preceded in death by his brother, Tyler R. Broadrick and grandparents, Alexander is survived by his mother, Donna M. Buchanan, his dad, Larry W. Broadrick, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is sorely missed.
