Charles (Chuck) Eugene Foster age 81 of Buckhead, Georgia went to be with his Lord on Sunday January 7th 2018.  Chuck, the son of Earl Eugene and Clara Milton was born in Telluride Colorado on October 5th 1936 and raised in the mountains of Southwest Colorado in the small community of Ophir.  He was the oldest of four children, Donna (Bink), Allan and Beverly.  He spent his early years attending school in a one room school house in Ophir, where he would assist the teacher by helping teach the younger students.  This was the beginning of a life spent teaching and helping others.  He finished high school in Telluride and later attended Western Colorado College in Gunnison, Colorado.  He joined the Air Force to see the world, but only made it as far as Lowry Airforce base in Denver, Colorado.  It was at the First Baptist Church in Denver where he met Miriam Bell, who was to become his wife of 56 years.  They were married in Buckhead Georgia at Buckhead Baptist Church and returned to Colorado where they lived their first few years in Hayden and Windsor.  It was in Windsor where they had their two children, Donna Leigh and Turner Eugene.  Chuck accepted a position with Kaiser Aluminum and it was this job that finally allowed him to see the world.  His work for Kaiser took him to Mandeville, Jamaica; Tacoma, Washington; Tema, Ghana; Gonzales, Louisiana; Spokane, Washington, and Temperance, Michigan before retiring in Spokane, Washington, a town he and Miriam loved.  He and Miriam moved back to her home of Buckhead, Georgia where he happily lived out his remaining days always staying busy with projects, including his latest hobby – the caning of chairs.

He loved spending time with his three grandchildren – Megan, Hannah and Jacob and many happy memories were made during summers spent with them.  He always had a great love of music, which began with his playing bass fiddle at square dances all over South Western Colorado.  That bass fiddle travelled all over the world and was later joined by a piano and organ.

Those who know Chuck know of his deep love of his Lord and using his God given talent to build churches and or projects for the churches where he was a member.  God has truly blessed Chuck and his family and they are all so grateful.  Welcome home, Chuck!

Services will be held 11 am Wednesday January 10th at Buckhead Baptist Church followed by a short graveside ceremony at Buckhead Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Awana Supporting Missionary Sandy Denham 1 East Bode Road, Streamwood, IL 60107

Thinking of you with deep sympathy. I pray that you would know the fullest comfort of Christ as you mourn. Prayers for you, Donna and Turner.
Chuck was a unique individual with many talents which he used for his Lord and to benefit others. I very much enjoyed his piano playing.
