WILLIAM WARNER WILLIS, JR. – August 22, 1924 to November 16, 2018
William Warner “Bill” Willis Jr. was born in Atlanta, GA on August 22, 1924, the third of four siblings. He graduated from Tech High School in Atlanta in June 1942. In December 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WW II in the Pacific Theater until May 1946. He married his first wife, Dolores, on December 22, 1948, and graduated from University of Georgia in June 1949 with a B.A in Journalism. Throughout his life, he was employed as a graphic artist and ended his career retiring from his own advertising agency, W. Willis Advertising. After raising six children with Dolores, she died of cancer in May 1976.
Bill remarried in May 1980 to Nancy Sandomierski. They lived in Atlanta, Canton, GA and finally, Madison, GA. Bill died on November 16, 2018 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by five of his six children: Mary Brown, William Edward “Buz” (deceased, November 2013), Mark, Lisa Bucci, Lori Bohling, and Paul. He is also survived by two stepsons, Todd and Steven Sandomierski, and 23 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will always be remembered for his quiet gentleness, his unassuming nature, his faithfulness, his hard work and good example as a husband, father and provider.
