STEPHEN EDGAR MORRIS

August 1, 1950 – February 15, 2019

 

                Stephen Edgar Morris, 68, of Eatonton, passed away on February 15, 2019.  Steve was born to John A. Morris and Martha Shoff Morris on August 1, 1950, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.  Steve grew up in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and after graduating high school he served in the United States Army from March of 1970 until March of 1976.  In the Army, Steve was stationed overseas where he worked as a radio intelligence operator.

                After leaving the service, he met his future wife, Linda Thompson, at Source of Light Ministries in Madison, Georgia.  Steve and Linda married and moved back to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania where they had a son, Stephen R. Morris.  Shortly after Stephen was born, they moved back to Eatonton, Georgia, where Steve resided until his death. 

                Steve was preceded in death by his father, John A. Morris.  He is survived by his mother, Martha Shoff Morris of Chambersburg, PA, his brother, Jack Morris of Naples, FL, his uncle Ed Shoff (Marian) of Asheville, NC, and his son Stephen R. Morris (Victoria) of Madison, GA.  Steve is also survived by his longtime caretaker, Myra Houk, of Eatonton, GA. 

                The family received friends at A.E. Carter Funeral Home in Madison on February 18, 2019, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to www.LoveMadison.org.
