Phillip Wayne Golson, 76 of Greensboro, died September 25, 2019. Mr. Golson was born on January 10, 1943 in Cedar Bluff, MS to Joe and Mary Watson Golson. He served in the U.S. Army and was married to Dorothy Poss for 41 years. Mr. Golson was self employed as a building contractor. He attended Eagles Wings Ministries. Since retiring from construction, he has driven a school bus for Morgan County Board of Education. He also enjoyed camping trips to the mountains.
Mr. Golson is survived by his wife, Dorothy and children, Phyllis, Michelle, Debbie and Jerry Dewaine. He was preceded in death by a son, Ben. Mr. Golson also leaves a sister, Gwen Ott, fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family received friends on Saturday, September 28 from 9-10 AM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 10 AM in the chapel. Interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens.
