Noah Gregory Tant

Noah Gregory Tant, 71 of Rutledge, died November 19, 2016.  Mr. Tant was a native of Rome, GA.  He was born March 2, 1945 to Noah Lee Tant and Willa Mae Akin Tant.  He was married to Judith Marler on September 4, 1964. He served in the U.S. Army in Panama during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Bell South where he worked as a service technician.  Mr. Tant moved to Morgan County from Hampton in 2005.  He was a member of Social Circle Baptist Church.  He enjoyed time spent on horseback.  He was a member of the American Legion and had been active in the color guard.

Mr. Tant is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judith Tant and their children, Ginger & David Whedon and Russ & Vanessa Tant.  Mr. Tant’s grandchildren are Avery Tant, Meaghan, Mitchell and Michael Whedon.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Madison Whedon.

The family received friends on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service was held Wednesday at 11 AM in the chapel.  Interment followed at the Madison City Cemetery.  Rev. Mike Hardy officiated.
