Niki Sells

Nicole Leigh Sells, lovingly called Niki by friends and family, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, January 21, 2019.  Niki was born March 15, 1980 to parents, Anthony (tony) and Claudia Sells in Macon, GA.  She attended and graduated from Westside High School.

Niki devoted her time to many organizations as a volunteer, including Morgan Medical Center (formerly Morgan Memorial Hospital), The Caring Place, UCP in Macon, Hand & Hand Ministries and Joseph’s Coat in Madison.  She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves as well as self-proclaimed unofficial historian of the Braves.  She also enjoyed Falcons, UGA and Georgia Southern Football.

During her 38 years, Niki was fortunate to be a world traveler.  She visited beautiful countries such as Germany, France, Italy and multiple states in the United States.  She accompanied her parents and friends on many vacations and loved to share stories of her travels with those around her.  Niki also had friends on many vacations and loved to share stories of her travels with those around her.  Niki also had a passion for country music, her favorites being Garth Brooks and Scotty McCreery.

A talented bowler, Niki competed in yearly Special Olympic competitions where she took the gold medal multiple times.  She was also a member of the Morgan Spirits Softball team.  An avid card player, friends recall her skills as card shark notoriety, specializing in Uno, Wizard, Golf and Five Crowns.

Niki is survived by her parents, Anthony (Tony) and Claudia Sells of Rutledge, Mark Sells (brother) and his wife Leanne as well as their children Christopher, Kaitlin and Chloe, Kevin Sells (brother) and Shasta Sells.  She is also survived by her Uncle Grady Sells and his wife, Betty, Aunt Debbie Barnhart and her husband, Chuck.  Many cousins and other family members, close friends Bob and Rose Mary Hughes and her best friend, Charity Ruark.  Niki was deeply loved by all and will be fondly remembered.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 27, from 5-7PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  Mass will be held on Monday, January 28 at 10AM at St. James Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine”, St. James Catholic Church Saint Vincent DePaul Society and to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
