Lamar T. Oxford, Jr., 83 of Bonita Springs, FL died August 10, 2015 after a brief illness. Mr. Oxford was a native of Rutledge, GA. He was born May 25, 1932 to Lamar Oxford, Sr. & Sallie Mae M. Oxford. He graduated from the North Georgia College in 1953 and then served as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He made his career as an executive in the textile industry. He was married to Bobbie Rucker Oxford. After retirement, the Oxford's moved to Florida where he enjoyed his passion for golf.. Mr. Oxford was active in his church and was an ordained deacon. He was also a Mason. He and Mrs. Oxford enjoyed vacationing in Sky Valley and would always attend Sky Valley Chapel while there.
Mr. Oxford is survived by his wife, Bobbie Oxford and their children, John Oxford and his wife, Marty and Sandy Cooke and her husband, Eddie. He also leaves a brother Jack Oxford and his wife, Carol. Mr. Oxford's grandsons are Nicholas Cooke, Cameron Cooke, Taylor Oxford and Allen Oxford. He also has three great grandchildren, Tristan, Aryabella and Ensley Oxford.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 2 PM in the chapel of A.E. Carter Funeral Home.
