John Charles Martin

John Charles Martin, 48, passed away March 14, 2019 in the great outdoors.  A graveside service for our hometown hero will be November 11 at 11 AM at the Madison City Cemetery.  We will salute our beloved son, brother, family member and soldier.

John will be missed by his mother, Sharon Martin; his father, Lindsey Martin and step-mom, Peggy Martin; sister, Jackie Martin Williams; nieces, Grace and Reign Williams; his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

John is a veteran of the armed forces.  As a valiant and honorable soldier of the U.S. Army, he proudly served and sacrificed for his country during Desert Storm and Desert Shield.  He grew up in Morgan County and graduated from Morgan County High School in 1989.  He remained a Morgan County resident with the exception of his military service and time he spent at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville.  He is the only son of Lindsey and Sharon Martin.  As a child, he learned to work on cars and equipment from father.  He could fix and do most anything.  John displayed a strong work ethic and always had a natural mechanical ability.  He took great pride in all that he did.  John was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and camp.  He will be missed dearly by those who loved and cherished him.
