James Kelley, III Obituary

J. Frank Kelley III (Frank), age 82, of Madison Georgia, passed away on March 9, 2014.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday,  March 10, 2014 at the Church of the Advent in Madison, Georgia officiated by Father Dann Brown. Burial will follow the church serviceat Madison Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Carter’s Funeral Home.

Frank was born in Jacksonville Florida on December 08, 1931. He graduated from Episcopal High School in Alexandria Virginia and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Frank was married to Susan Kelley on July 01, 1970; they were married 44 years.

Frank retired after a lifelong career with Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company. He also was a successful independent real estate broker. He honorably served the United States during the Korean War in Germany as an Officer in the Air Force. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting and fishing, golfing and travelling the world. He was also actively involved in his local church as a lay leader.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents James Franklin Kelley Jr, Francis Pratt Kelley, daughter Lizanne Shields Kelley and Son Jay Sherrard Kelley.

Frank is survived by his wife Susan Carol Kelley, his sons Guy Hines Kelley (Cindy), Robert Matthew Kelley, Sherrard Kennedy Kelley and James Franklin Kelley IV (Ake), his sister Patty Gray, his grandchildren Anna Ruth Kelley and Daniel Hines Kelley, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to ST. Mary’s Hospice in Athens Georgia or CARI animal rescue. The family of J. Frank Kelley III wishes to thank the Church of the Advent,the Madison Gathering church and the St. Mary’s Hospice for their continued care, love and support.
