Huberta Alliston Crisp, 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on August 24, 2019. Huberta was born to Robert Leroy and Willie Mae Vining Alliston. She was married to Bobby Ray Crisp for 63 years. Huberta was a member of Grace Bible Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and nanny. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially mowing her yard and watching the birds and hummingbirds. She enjoyed having lunch with family and friends and always looked forward to Friday night meals at Bonner’s with her niece, Carolyn Welch. She was lovingly known as “Spunky” by her family, a nickname given to her by her mama.
Huberta Crisp is survived by her husband, Bobby Crisp and their children, Cindy and Dennis Stewart, Mike and Lavan Crisp and Debbie and Patrick Watkins. Her grandchildren are Derrick and Neepa Stewart, Anna and Randall Watkins, Troy and Lindsay Crisp, Ashley Coyer, Stacey Watkins, Evan Watkins and Andrew Watkins. Her great grandchildren are Raylan Stewart, Dyrks Stewart, Trace Watkins and Ava Watkins. Her surviving siblings are Teen Harrison, Bud and Frances Alliston and Reid and Gwen Alliston, along with her brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Carolyn Crisp. She had many nieces and nephews and lots of children who considered her their “nanny”.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 26, 2019 at A.E. Carter Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, August 27 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.
