Eloise Slaughter Bowden Long entered God's eternal glory on Sept 7, 2019. She was the third child of Sarah and Jacob Slaughter. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Muschett, her son-in -law Dr Douglas Muschett, her devoted grandson, Scott Douglas Muschett, her sister Janette Saffold , brother-in-law Terrell Saffold, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Ms. Wease, as she liked to be called, was a devoted, twice-widowed wife of Harry H. Bowden and Joseph E. Long, a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend and long-time member of Beacon Heights Baptist Church.
She owned and ran her own beauty shop in Woodstown, NJ. for 24 years. Wease was an artist and a poet as well, having a poem published in "Poets of America." Her family and friends give great thanks to God for her loving kindness, her generosity, her sense of humor and her heart-warming smile.
Calling hours are Friday, September 13 from 2-4 PM AND 6-8 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. A.E. Carter Funeral Home will also host her funeral on Sat, Sept 14 at 1pm in the chapel. Her daughter, the Rev Dr. Darlene Muschett will preside. Following a procession to Faith Memorial Gardens for her burial, everyone is invited to a reception hosted by Beacon Heights Baptist Church and Pastor Jeff Hicks. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Beacon Heights Baptist Church.
