Dorothy Mae (Conner) Herbert

Mrs. Dorothy Herbert, 88 died on October 27, 2013.  She was a native of South Boston, VA.  She was born February 6, 1925 to the late James and Flossie Booth Conner.  She was married to the late Samuel Herbert and spent her career as a nurse. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing African violets.  She like crafts such as ceramics and needlepoint.  She attended Centennial Baptist Church since moving to Rutledge.
Mrs. Herbert is survived by her children, Larry Nance & Ruth and Linda Murphy.  She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Wayne Nance.  She also leaves five grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Courtney, Justin and Lawrence, III.  She also has four great grandchildren, Gabriella, Lauren, Kaitlyn and Evan.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 1:30 -2:30pm.  The funeral service will begin at 2:30 in the chapel.  Interment will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.
