Colleen (Grant) Jones

Colleen Annette (Grant) Jones, 48 of Madison, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2019.  Colleen (Netta) was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.  She was born May 19, 1970 in Detroit, Michigan to Stephen and Frances (Hanninen) Grant.   

Colleen’s passion was caring
for and giving to others.  She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
from Troy University in AL, and worked as a registered nurse for many years in
several different areas of health care, including hospice and most recently
emergency medicine. She loved to help people in their time of need, always
seeking to bring comfort and ease pain.  Colleen loved flowers, she
enjoyed arts and crafts, was very creative, and was an excellent cook.  Always generous and giving, she always
brought laughter and  joy to any
occasion.   Colleen lived in Morgan
County for the past 14 years and she and her family attended St. James Catholic
Church in Madison.

Colleen is survived by her
husband, Roger Jones, her parents Stephen & Frances Grant, and her
grandfather Joseph B. Grant.  Colleen leaves behind her beloved children,
the true joys of her life: Bill (Stephanie) Stringer of Cincinnati, OH; Erik
Kirby of Charleston, SC; Roxanne Kirby of Charleston, SC; Grace Connor of
Charleston, SC; Sabrina Jones & Hailey Jones of Madison, GA; Kyle Jones of
Prattville, AL; Trent (Kelsey) Jones of Prattville, AL; and Preston Jones of
Spokane, WA.   Colleen was the eldest of 12 children, and is survived
by her 11 siblings and their spouses: Melissa (Michael) Wallace, Steve Grant,
Nick Grant, Maria (Joe) Klesney, Chris (Joy) Grant, Matt Grant, Monica (Ryan)
Freng, Mary (Preston) Smith, Dianna (Derek) Monroe, Bridgit (West) Wilson, and
Andrew Grant.  She is also survived by
many other family and friends.  Preceding
her in death are her grandparents Rose Grant, Wesley Hanninen, Clem Hanninen,
and numerous other loved ones.

The family will receive friends
on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 4-7:00PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home in
Madison, GA.  A funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, February 6,
2019 at 11AM at St. James Catholic Church in Madison, GA.

In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to the Humane Society of Morgan County, in honor of Colleen Jones.
