Jewel (Merkison) White

Arna Jewel White of Buckhead, GA entered her Heavenly home on January 12, 2023.  She was born June 19, 1940 in Seminole County, GA to the late Aldon “Joe” Merkison and Ruby Braswell Merkison.

Jewel was married to the love of her life, Wylie Mitchell White.  They celebrated 62 years of marriage on January 7th.  She was the precious mother of two children.

Jewel loved to travel over the years and enjoyed cruising most of all.  She  often said that the memories created traveling with her family brought so much joy.  Jewel enjoyed working in her yard, keeping an immaculate home and being involved in all the activities of her granddaughter, Ashlyn.  She had a wonderful life, full of love.

In addition to her parents, Jewel was preceded in death by by her sister, Betty Dawson, brothers R.J., Julius “Merk” and Jack Merkison.  An infant grandson, Bradley Mitchell White and her son-in-law, Michael Rustin.

She is survived by her loving husband, Wylie; her children, Greg (Sheila) White and Tammy Rustin.  Her grandchildren Heather (Michael) Broxton, Laken (Justin) Cofer, Jordyn (Dax) Oliver and Ashlyn Rustin.  Three great grandchildren, Adelyn, Peyton and Anniston Cofer.  One special brother-in-law, Jimmy Dawson and one special sister-in-law, Evelyn Merkison.

Jewel was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Greshamville.  A graveside service will be held with a viewing immediately prior.  The service will be Monday, January 16 at 2 PM with Mike Pritchett officiating.
