Jim Whitton Obituary

Jim Whitton, 61, of Madison, Georgia, went to be with Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer while surrounded by his loving family on Friday evening, March 1, 2024. Jim was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Jim lived his life dedicated to all he loved and never met a stranger. He was truly a friend to all. Jim enjoyed his life in Madison, committing many years of work at both Wellington and City Electric. Jim fondly shared memories of his time spent studying at the University of Georgia, he enjoyed traveling all over the country with the love of his life, Nancy, and he loved listening to music from the best decade, the 70s. Jim passionately cheered on the Georgia Bulldogs and enjoyed spending his time gardening, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and feeding the animals on the farm. What Jim loved most was spending time with his family by grilling and cooking for them and playing with his grandkids, nieces and nephews. Jim loved the Lord, read his Bible, and worshiped in several different houses of God over the years, including Madison Christian Church, Lake Oconee Church, and Free Chapel.

Jim was preceded in death by his father Ron Whitton and is survived by his mother, Eleatha Kennedy, father, George Peckinpaugh, partner Nancy Clark, children Nikki Whitton, Lacey Tillery (Nick), Ashley Burt (Daniel), Megan Bell, siblings Kimberly Holland, Greg Atkinson, Jeff Atkinson, Ronny Whitton, Jimmy Peckinpaugh, and Kimberly Dula, and grandchildren Clark Burt, Oliver Whitton, Bren Bell, Ellie Turner, Ellis Burt, and Mae Tillery.
